2007 in Short Retrospect

So It’s 2008 and I haven’t thought of posting a blog in almost a year. Since the start of the MBA program, I’ve been trying to find the rhythm to my schedule, and I haven’t found it yet. However, since the time lapse between blogs are so long, I fear some of the details may have already been lost.

May to July was a whirlwind of school activities.

In August, we took a mini trip out west towards Grand Rapids Michigan. We did a lot of driving, and purchased some goods, such as Sigg water bottles. Since then, we have virtually removed all consumption of bottled water, and we have also significantly reduced the coffee consumption from Starbucks and the Second Cup. This was a beneficial cost savings side effect.  We now have water in the car and the quick gulp of water is much cheaper than the 5 dollar hot drink. I also spent a lot of time going to the various farmer markets in August.  The best buy of the season were peaches and braids of garlic heads.

September to December was more school with a growing interest in economics.

December was also dominated by school activities.  However, as Christmas rolled around, I am now off school for another month.  For Christmas and Boxing day, we had back to back turkey meals, with potatoes, mushroom risotto, and roasted vegetables.  The meals were simple, but relatively time consuming to make.  I think I’m getting rusty in the kitchen.  I was successful in putting out 160 gingerbread men, and also was inspired to make a gingerbread shack. There was a gingerbread show on TV that was awesome, and the bakers were very talented.  However, my shanty shall be improved the next year, when I actually figure out the building and theme ideas….well, let’s see how next year goes.
